Around 25 years ago, I saw a new product from Sweden called the Campsolite Toe-off. Carbon fibre was new then and this is the latest development of the idea. It works so well, for many of the people with stroke or head injury, where ankle and foot control is difficult.
The official line is that it’s not suitable for people with a lot of spasticity, the strong unwanted muscle fixing that many experience. My view is that it can also reduce that spasticity as the patient feels more safe and stable. Worth trying in a broader group.
Of all the equipment I have seen over the years, I rate this the most highly for help with walking and balance.
